ILWU members help Local 91 brother re-take his home

Dexter Cato a member of ILWU Local 91 and a life-long resident of San Francisco’s Bayview Hunter’s Point, with the help of scores of community supporters including ILWU members, retook his home that had been foreclosed on by Wells Fargo in 2010. Cato and his family were forced out of the house last year after Wells Fargo foreclosed on the property, despite reassurances that the bank was working on a loan modification for Cato. The family suffered a devastating loss in 2009 when Dexter’s wife, Christina, a MUNI driver and SEIU 1021 member, was killed in a traffic accident that left the family with a reduced income.
