Southern Calif. Longshore workers will join 'Hollywood to the Docks" march April 15-17, for good-paying jobs in Los Angeles
From April 15-17, Longshore workers from ILWU locals in Southern California will join actors, janitors and many other workers and community supporters who will march 28 miles from Hollywood to the Port of Long Angeles in San Pedro. The march will highlight efforts by the ILWU and other unions to promote good-paying Southland jobs held by 350,000 residents covered by labor contracts that expire in 2008. The march will end on Thursday, April 17th at the docks in Los Angeles harbor where the ILWU and other unions will host a large rally. The march ends on April 17 at 6 p.m.,as longshore workers and others join members of the ILWU Coast Committee at the Port of Los Angeles for a massive rally.
