Brother Carlos Rivera ("Tycoon") was born in Puerto Rico on November 8, 1934 and was a resident of the Harbor Area.
Brother Rivera became a longshoreman on August 14, 1969 and loved working on the waterfront all his life. He died in a workplace accident on April 4, 2008 at Berth 87 at the Port of Long Beach. The exact cause of his death remains under investigation.
He is survived by his wife: Juana Rivera, children: Daniel, Carlos Jr., Roy and Virginia, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
