Dean Baker, co-founder of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, will be a featured speaker. Dean is a plain speaking economist, and one who pulls no punches. He will discuss the continuing attacks on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and he will offer suggestions on what we all can do to protect and improve those essential programs, while repelling proponents of inhumane “austerity” measures which target the working class.
The ILWU Titled Officers and Officers from locals also will attend the Convention. A more detailed agenda will be available later.
