ILWU local 502 raised over $2600 for the food bank during the Christmas holidays.  Now they have taken up a much larger project.  They are attempting to raise $10,000 for the Children’s Hospital.  In just one week of collections the members have donated over $3,000.  The local is also involved in raising funds for cancer research.

This initiative by local 502 also comes with a challenge to all unions, groups and organizations to match or beat their target of $10,000.  Local 502 is becoming more involved in the community and is helping many groups.

The local has set a deadline of June 1 to accomplish this task.  Judging from their current success they are sure to pass the $10,000 target.
